LTE: Cristin McCarthy Vahey is an Advocate for Fairfield
Published on Fairfield Patch 9/28/20
Exceptional is the word I use to sum up Rep. Cristin McCarthy Vahey's first five years serving Fairfield's District 133 as a state House representative.

Rep. McCarthy Vahey knocks on doors and responds to constituents. I know this firsthand, having opened my door to Cristin over the years to express support or concern on an issue and hear her view. She is an advocate for Fairfield families and the elderly, particularly on issues of public health, education, fiscal responsibility, employee rights, transportation, and community development.
Housing choice for all incomes and ages is essential to sustaining the local economy and a must if Connecticut officials are serious about attracting employers who will create jobs and prosper in the community. Cristin understands that studying local municipal zoning regulations may be a way to decrease housing costs, encouraging revitalization of commercial areas and of Fairfield's existing housing stock, the majority of which was built before 1979.
The connection between tax revenue and business expansion cannot be denied. Cristin supports the arts, theater, recreation and open space as economic factors that will enhance and sustain our local economy. She knows all these factors are vital if Fairfield is to remain an affordable and inclusive place to live.
